At Southern Tank Services Ltd, our specialist fuel oil tank removal team provide a complete decommissioning service to make safe and dispose of all redundant storage facilities.

All our work is carried out to the latest Environment Agency guidelines and industry best practice.  We pride ourselves on providing a professional service with the minimum disruption when working on site.

Above ground installations are usually cleaned and de-gassed to make them safe and removed whole where possible, if this is not possible, or if the tank is below ground in a basement or inaccessible then we use a variety of hot and cold cutting methods to suit the environment that we are in. Our engineers are confined spaced trained, experienced and fully insured.

Before any work is carried out, we’ll provide and agree a site specific risk assessment and method statement and on completion a Waste Transfer Notice and Gas Free paperwork is issued.

Typical service includes:

• Pump out and recycle any remaining product.
• De-sludge, clean and gas free the redudnant tank.
• Cut in to handable sections. (hot or cold cutting as required)
• Dispose and recycle the redundant material
• Cut and remove redundant pipes and vents, or clear and leave in place.
